Join in on the fun at our local playgrounds! These outdoor programs are structured to get kids motivated to get outside and play at a playground near you! Your child will have fun outside with themed outdoor games, activities and crafts. Lunch is included each day of the program. A parent or parent-identified trusted adult is responsible for signing the child in and out each day. Hey kids, plan to enjoy your summer days playing outside! Scholarships are available. This one week long program will consist of various theatre aspects. Students will receive a role the first day and then begin working on a full play script. They will learn choreography, vocal technique and acting skills. Instruction will be by experienced youth mentoring younger thespians. Instructed by Renee Barr.

Mon – Fri, June 26 – 30 (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
Final performance will on Friday evening at 6 p.m.

Grades: 1st – 5th McMorran Theatre

This program is designed for 6th, 7th and 8th graders who have had some theatre experience or looking for an opportunity to break into this art. Roles and scripts will be given out the first day. Looking for one last opportunity before school starts to have fun with your friends and do a little theatre? Here’s your chance to participate in a week long program geared towards high schoolers who love theatre. Scripts and roles will be given out the first day as we work towards a full scale show Friday night scheduled at 6 p.m. Instructed by Renee Barr

[toggle title=”All About Learning: Pull Back Car Sessions”]
“Student Engineers” learn about simple machines and their real-world applications. Each Student will build a pullback car and then redesign it to test friction. The students will explore resistance and potential energy in the class. The skills and traits of the engineering profession are also discussed and incorporated to the age appropriate sessions. If time permits at the end of class, students can then race their cars. Each session’s lesson plans will focus on these engineering concepts that are tailored to the students’ experiences and grade levels. Students take home the car they build!

Students will take part in a CSI-style Forensic Camp where they will try to figure out crimes by using clues and detailed observations. Students will identify and collect evidence from fingerprints, tracks and more. Make-and-take home projects each day. Course taught by retired St. Clair County Sheriff Deputy Cyndy King.

This is a CSI II Forensics Camp for those students who have taken and graduated from CSI I. This class will display more complex crime scenes and the evidence collecting will be more advanced and more challenging. Make-and-take home projects each day. Are you 12-15 years old and looking for something different to do this summer? With the help of the Dr. James C. Acheson Foundation, we have an opportunity for you to learn job skills and helping out our community and earn rewards while having fun through our volunteer program. Your first step is to complete the Junior Recreator application after May 10th. Once the application is complete a meeting will be scheduled with you and your parents to set up your summer schedule and get you started on your summer fun!
