Jump into fall with the Port Huron Recreation Department

Updated: Sep 1, 2022

The Port Huron Recreation Department welcomes families to register for upcoming fall 2022 programs at the Palmer Park Recreation Center.

Residents of the City of Port Huron may register for fall programs starting Thursday, Sept. 1. Nonresidents may register Friday, Sept. 2. Due to a partnership with Fort Gratiot, Burtchville, Clyde, and Port Huron Townships, their residents have been afforded the City of Port Huron’s resident rate.

The Recreation Department is reintroducing many familiar programs for the 2022 fall season. Returning sports classes include karate, dance, archery, fencing, Drums Alive, Bitty Ball with The Athletic Factory and Walk Michigan. The Halloween Stroll, Winter Celebration, and the Lakeside Cemetery Tour are also popular returning events. Newer classes include our Big’n’Little series, which encourages children and adults to share the joy of food and cooking while learning together in these hands-on programs, and several new, art-related programs are also available. In addition, the Recreation Department is partnering with the Friends of the St. Clair River to offer Owl Prowl and Creatures of the Night.

For individuals looking to register, registration is available in person at the Palmer Park Recreation Center on 2829 Armour St. in Port Huron, online at www.porthuronrec.com, by mail, or by fax to 810-984-0192. Cash, credit or debit card, and check are accepted. Checks may be made payable to the City of Port Huron.

We are highly encouraging participants to register online. Our office will be closed for walk-in visits from Sept. 6-9 for building maintenance, but we are able to meet those wishing to register in person at the door and are available to contact by phone at 810.984.9760.

From Sept. 12 until Oct. 7, the Palmer Park Recreation Center will be closed to the public and staff. During this time, in-person registration will be available at the McMorran Place Theatre from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. Please enter through the north doors of the building. McMorran is located at 701 McMorran Blvd. in Port Huron, MI.

Registration forms may be downloaded at www.porthuronrec.com/forms or are available in person.
