Dress in costume and drive through the Port Huron Recreation Department’s trick-or-treating Halloween Stroll event Saturday, Oct. 30.
The annual stroll begins at 10 a.m. with staggered registration and participation every 30 minutes until 1 p.m.. Adults may drive their vehicle around a predetermined route in the grass lot between 3rd St. and Griswold St. in Port Huron near Desmond Landing and the Blue Water River Walk.
“Many local businesses have shown a great interest in this event and we are excited to offer the Halloween Stroll, once again, to our community. We are looking forward to this year and are really encouraging participants to decorate their cars to add to the festivities,” said Kati Gardner, co-supervisor of the Port Huron Recreation Department and the event coordinator of the Halloween Stroll.
Local businesses, who help to sponsor the event, are passing out candy and treats to individuals as they drive the route. Along the ride, participants will encounter Halloween inflatables and scenes, fire trucks and other large vehicles and treats.
Registration is required to participate. Participants who preregister by Friday, Oct. 29 will receive a discounted rate. Tickets for residents who preregister are $8 per car. Nonresidents who preregister are $10 per car. Registration is available at www.porthuronrec.com/stroll or in person at the Palmer Park Recreation Center.
