Port Huron Recreation to offer exciting, new summer programs

New for the summer 2024 season, the Recreation Department is offering 11 new programs for both adults and children. 

 

New programming includes: 

-Paint along with Kara: Adventures of Dog and Bear, for ages 5 or older

-Bracelet Making, for ages 5 or older children 

-Mermaid Class, for ages 13-15 

-Water Safety Week, for ages 4-9 

-Discover SCUBA, for ages 10 or older 

-Wiffle Ball Tournament, for adults 

-Open Ended Art: Springtime Jars, for all ages

-Open Ended Art: Pottery Flowers, for all ages 

-Open Ended Art: Olaf’s Pool Party, for children 

-Open Ended Art: Alcohol Ink Charm, for all ages  

-Open Ended Art: Summer Van Gogh Painting, for all ages 

 

Many familiar programs and events are returning for the summer season. Some of these favorites include Rockin’ The Rivers, Theatre Bootcamp, Summer Movie Nights, Beach Acrylic Pours, Wetland Wanderings, PH Parks Passport, Junior Recreators and children’s swim lessons at Sanborn Pool.



Beginning Thursday, May 2 at 8 a.m. residents of the City of Port Huron are welcome to register for these summer programs and more. 

 

Nonresidents may register starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 3. Due to a partnership with Fort Gratiot, Burtchville, Clyde, Port Huron and Kimball Townships, their residents have been afforded the City of Port Huron’s resident rate. 2024 is the first summer Kimball Township residents will pay the township partner rate.

Registration is available in person at the Recreation Center at 2829 Armour St. in Port Huron, online at www.porthuronrec.com/registration, by mail or by fax to 810-984-0192. Cash, credit card and check are accepted. Checks may be made payable to the City of Port Huron.

The Port Huron Recreation Department provides a safe, fun and active recreation and learning environment for adults and youth.
