Rockin' The Rivers has been canceled for 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic

Updated: Aug 31, 2022

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, large gatherings are prohibited by local and state authorities in order to prevent further spread of the virus. According to Executive Order 2020-115 (COVID-19), instated by Governor Whitmer, outdoor gatherings for events and performances cannot exceed 250 people. The order was established on June 5, 2020, and is to remain active indefinitely.

The free concerts normally take place every Thursday night throughout the month of August at Kiefer Park, bringing over 2,000 people each night. Since 2009, the concerts have provided the Port Huron area with music, food trucks, and beverage tents on summer evenings--a perfect setting for gathering with friends and family.

“ We want everyone to be safe and healthy so that we can all continue to enjoy events like these for years to come.”

The Recreation Department looks forward to providing events such as Rockin’ the Rivers for members in the community. Its focus is largely on fun, active, and safe recreational opportunities for everyone. "This year, we need to work a little differently to continue to maintain and protect the health of our community members. We want everyone to be safe and healthy so that we can all continue to enjoy events like these for years to come," said Nancy Winzer, Recreation Department director. "We look forward to putting on an incredible series of shows in 2021 and safely rockin’ again next summer," she said.
